What a beatiful day to stay indoors.

It’s absolutely gorgeous outside, the kind of weather kids can play in and get tired from.  But I’m not going out, not yet.

There is a man on the run from authorities in our community this morning.  Helicopters started a search after he fled on foot after firing at them when he did not stop at a check point.  Two schools are closed on the first day of school due to this guy.  So needless to say, I’m staying in with my charges until I hear he has been caught.  I know what your thinking; That’s a little un-piratey.  But one female with four little buckaneers to watch and a bad guy on the lose with a gun, my odds would not be to great.  Well let’s hope the police find him soon.

In my opinion, a gun weilding, granade throwing, bomb building man would be terrified of a woman cappable of caring for 4 kids under 4. I suppose we are assuming that said man is in his right mind, which is clearly debatable.

    Did they find him?

Yes the found him. About two and a half hours after the search began. They found him a couple of blocks from our apartment complex in the woods. He shot at police three different times and one of the times he shot an officer in the leg. What a jerk! And apparently a bad shot, thank goodness. I haven’t heard any reports as to why he blew a check point, which started the chase and said gun fight, but he must have had something in his car or possibly a warrant out for him. The two schools that were closed did reopen for the first day of school after they had the guy in custody. Needless to say, I will be taking the children outside today to enjoy the sunshine.
